"Real Life" has intruded once again on
my Easter egg updates. I have a whole bunch of eggs to add (over 20 or
30), but it takes time to update them. I'm looking at redesigning the whole
system in the near future -- all eggs will be kept in a database, with
full indexing and search abilities. Submissions will be automatically converted
to HTML, so updates would be easy and fast, and therefor regular.
I'm also trying a new ad company. I've
been using Web Wide Media on
all my pages, but unfortunately they seem to have a chronic shortage of
ads for my type of site. Result: I get about a dozen paid ads per 1000
ads shown. I'm now giving eAds a go --
if anyone knows of an banner ad service which they've heard good
reports about, I'd love to hear from
you. In fact, if you're interested in advertising on any of the pages
here, let me know -- I'm sure we
could work out some very reasonable rates. |

Here's one of the best eggs I've seen:
music in the HP 5PSE scanner. Apparently the motor changes speeds to give
variable tones. Very clever. Thanks to Dustin Christopherson for this one. |

Ok, here's one I've had submitted a couple
of times but I didn't put it in because I felt it was more of a computer
trick than an easter egg. Anyway, it's for Win95
and will hide the user's task bar. (As submitted by Psy) |

Elliot
Lee has pointed out that the X-Windows animation egg is not
triggered by the URL, but by a secret Netscape password. Thanks Elliot. |

Astraea has added another egg to the long
list of ones for mIRC. This particular
one changes the photo of the programmer. In other mIRC news, Laura Fix
reports that the silly message egg works in the earlier version 5.0, not
just 5.02 as earlier reported. Any
advance on 5.0? |
